An adored Greenwich Village neighborhood restaurant and bar established in 1915, Caffe Dante celebrates the traditional way of community in New York City. With over 100 years of history, Dante honors the simplicity of gathering with friends over authentic Italian-Australian food and world class drink. With the reopening of the restaurant in 2015, Australian owners Linden Pride and Natalie Hudson seek to preserve Dante’s original heritage whilst striving for innovation; taking influences from the global ingredients that New Yorkers have learned to love and seek out. Most recently, Dante has earned top honors including Number 1 World’s 50 Best Bars, Time Out New York’s Bar of the Year and World’s Best Bar and Best American Restaurant Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.
Dante West Village is the second location from husband-and-wife team Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson of Figure 8 Hospitality. The seafood-driven restaurant, focused around a wood-fired grill & charcoal oven, is paired with a world-class martini and aperitivo bar. The Mediterranian-inspired menu takes cues from coastal cuisines of both Northern Spain and Southern Italy, and the drinks menu focuses on two internationally popular drinks: the spritz and the martini. The original Dante, the Italian-inspired bar located on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village, has earned top honors including 2019’s Number 1 World’s 50 Best Bars and 2019’s World’s Best Bar and Best American Restaurant Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.
