Melanie Weitzner’s passion for design and food & beverage has been influenced by years of travel and her love of restaurants. Her career began working for Polo Ralph Lauren before earning her Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications at Emerson College. She’s had over 10 years of agency experience working with top global brands such as Soho House, HBA, Hakkasan, Culinary Concepts and Samba Brands Management.
Her approach to PR encompasses all that is Lion & Lamb with a strategic execution and maintaining longstanding relationships with media across print, online and broadcast. As Co-founder of Lion & Lamb, Melanie has been able to deliver the results needed for her clients which include Michelin starred and emerging chefs, properties in exciting locales and talented and innovative designers.
Prior to co-founding Lion & Lamb, Rachel’s experience has been broad and varied. With 15 years of branding, marketing, and communications experience, previous roles include Chief Marketing Officer for Chris Blackwell’s Island Outpost Resort, Director of Communications for Andaz by Hyatt and Vice President at Dan Klores Communications.
Rachel’s extensive experience in technology, hospitality, fashion and spirits allows her to find trends across multiple industries. She has a proven track record of creating unique partnerships and relationships that have helped expand awareness of the companies she’s worked with. A Boston native with 11 years in New York and four years in London & Northern Ireland, Rachel continues to travel the world exploring and uncovering what people are looking for next.
Abbie has nearly a decade of experience working in Public Relations. With a personal passion for travel, she has focused her PR expertise in the hospitality and travel space working with clients such as Delta Air Lines, Princess Cruise Lines, The Watergate Hotel, Paradisus Resorts, Destination Hotels, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, The Plaza Hotel, Lotte New York Palace and more. She has also worked with tech and lifestyle brands including Instagram, ASPCA, American Express, SUBWAY, Timex and Under Armour. She oversees several account teams, developing and executing successful public relations campaigns on a regional, national and international basis while also maintaining close relationships with high-level media.
Prior to Lion & Lamb, Abbie was a Vice President within the hospitality group at DKC Public Relations and before that, served as an Account Supervisor at Lou Hammond & Associates. She began her PR career at Catalyst Public Relations after graduating from Boston University. Abbie is a Connecticut-native who currently resides in New York City, and when she’s not at one of her favorite fitness classes, she’s probably planning her next trip.
Goal-oriented and results-driven, Amanda has extensive experience leading a variety of creative programs for brands such as Jose Cuervo Tequila, Herschel Supply Co and Coca-Cola. Amanda’s ability to make fast friends with media, celebrity and influencers alike, make her a staple at many red carpet events. A trusted client resource, she brings a positive, can-do attitude to every aspect of her career and daily life. In her free time, Amanda enjoys checking out the latest trends in fitness and spending time with friends exploring new restaurants, traveling and enjoying a cocktail or two.
Intrepid traveler, sommelier and culinary explorer, Ana Zawacki transitioned from talent booker and writing broadcast story content to pursue her passion for plates, places and people, becoming a skilled publicist with strong relationships in the media that share her love for travel, food and beverage. With over seven years in the industry, Ana has worked for top public relations agencies including Bullfrog + Baum, Lou Hammond & Associates, and Decker Royal Agency. As a Director at Lion & Lamb, Ana’s specialties include development and management of PR campaigns that combine media relations, social media and marketing tactics to generate quantifiable ROI; media planning and execution; team management; new business acquisition, and cross-promotional partnership development.
Cassie Lovett joined Lion & Lamb Communications in 2015 with a passion for the fast-paced nature of public relations and sharing the stories behind exceptional experiences. As an Account Director overseeing a number of travel and hospitality clients, she spent four years prior to joining Lion & Lamb Communications with a luxury travel public relations agency, managing accounts spanning three continents from boutique hotels to international destinations. Past clients include Cape Town Tourism and the City of Clearwater, Florida along with hotels such as Hotel Unique, Saõ Paolo; Azura Retreats, Mozambique; Uncharted Africa Safari co.; Africa Adventure Company and more. Cassie holds a B.S. from Babson College in Business Administration.
A traveler at heart with a background in creative production, Lucy Ballantyne brings her expertise in both the inventive and practical side of the media and hospitality industries. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, she completed her Communications and Film degree from institutions in both Australia and Italy. Never one to sit still, relocating to New York City saw Lucy working on productions for brands such as Helmut Lang, Rag + Bone and Heinekenn and handling the communications for luxury travel destinations, operators and hotels spanning five continents including Africa and Antarctica. Joining the Lion & Lamb Communications team as a trustworthy and loyal client resource, she offers the team her enthusiasm, relentless optimism and passion for great storytelling.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Lesley Hennen is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University in 2014, Lesley began her career in public relations. She’s executed PR initiatives for several wine & spirits brands over the years including Maker’s Mark bourbon, Tres Agaves tequila, Sobieski vodka, Amarula South African cream liqueur, and Cakebread Cellars winery in Napa Valley. In her spare time, Lesley can be found performing stand-up in various bars and basements around NYC, working on her next comedic short, or on the hunt for the best gin & tonic in the city.
A traveler at heart and lover of food, Rebecca is a Queens native with a degree in Public Relations from Boston University. Before breaking into the culinary industry, she worked with a number of travel and hospitality clients becoming fluent in the realm of media relations at Nancy J. Friedman Publications (MMGY Global). Past clients include Asbury Park, New Jersey, Gansevoort Hotel Group, Kimpton Hotels, The Williamsburg Hotel and more.
With a background in many aspects of hospitality, Sacha has a particular love for the cocktail bar and spirits industries. She brings a knowledge and understanding of this infectious industry from two of its major operating cities across the globe. Born in the UK’s beautiful Lake District region, Sacha moved to London at a young age where she completed an intensive Degree program in Media and Communications at the world-famous Goldsmiths College, known for its eclectic alumni and famous for it advanced specialization in the creative arts. During her time there, Sacha was introduced to London Cocktail Club where alongside her studies and beyond she worked with Founder JJ Goodman in a series of progressive roles, helping to grow the seven venue bar group. With her sights on the Big Apple, she crossed the pond to join Lion & Lamb Communications in 2015. Here she continues to work as a trusted and reputable contact for clients, with a flare for creative writing and a genuine adoration for the field of Public Relations.
A bilingual New York native, Jorge recently joined Lion & Lamb communications and brings forth with him a unique background in Spirits, previously working on accounts such as Rémy Martin and Bruichladdich Whisky. In his free time, when not working out at the gym, he enjoys keeping up with the latest food trends on Instagram and traveling to different parts of the world with friends.
Talia spent her years in college at American University challenging herself and becoming fluent in all things public relations. A self-proclaimed foodie paying homage to her Chicago roots, Talia enjoys all things pizza. Talia prides herself on navigating complex problems involving competing interests, a skill which she attributes to growing up in a large family.
Passionate about persuasive words and penne ala vodka, Sophie Burton recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Communication Studies and Writing. From her hometown of Minneapolis to NYC, she has written for a variety of publications about topics ranging from chia seeds at Where to wedding dresses at The Knot, and is excited to channel her love of writing and decadent food into a career in culinary PR.
Devyn is a senior at St. John’s University, and is eager to start her career in PR following graduation. After spending a semester in Rome, she fell in love with the allure of travel, and looks to apply that passion to her work. A New England native with a coffee always in hand, she enjoys sharing and listening to new music, as well as exploring new parts of the city.
